Don’t jump to premature conclusions

With little knowledge we often presume our assessment is right. We often don’t check the facts, seek further evidence, get another perspective or even sleep on it. Waiting just one day to recollect thoughts and give our mind the chance to reconsider our view is a wise way forward.

Sleep clears the mind. We wake up a little fresher than the day before. Somehow the facts are distilled and we become a little more certain our story and its conclusion is good and clear.

Writing things down and sleeping on them is good practice because if we’re not comfortable the next day we won’t publish premature and incomplete conclusions.
