Critical thinking is critical

We’ve been warned to WATCH by Lao Tzu – Watch means to be observant. Watch and Think. He said, “Watch your Thoughts, they become your words; watch your Words, they become your actions; watch your Actions, they become your habits; watch your Habits, they become your character; watch your Habits, they become your character; watch your Character, it becomes your Destiny.”

Thinking is important because it reflects our heart and our values, beliefs and ultimately our character. Our thoughts can be either positive or negative. If we contemplate sad thoughts we’ll become sad. We’ll carry a demeanour of sadness and like a cloud we’ll carry it with us and people will feel your cloud of sadness. If we reminisce over melancholic moments we can become morose and not much fun to be with.

Be careful how you think because it can lead to actions, habits and character over time. If you think through the progressive pattern of this, you may decide the end result is not where you really want to be.

The acid test question is – ‘Do you really want the mind of a victor?’

Think about what gives you peace, joy and fun. Think about the lovely memories which give you happiness. Think about the plans which are good for you, your health, your family, friends and future.

Have you ever done a ‘thinking audit’? Think about it!
