Don’t know about you but I’ve been catapulted out of a State, a job and a Church through no fault, event or wrong doing on my part. It took a while to work it out but my lived experience has taught me to know that when you’re ‘chucked’ out the reason can be the most powerful emotion of all – jealousy.
There are many insecure people on this planet who come along our paths to do nothing more than act as sandpaper in the irritation of life. But like the pearl and the diamond, they come at a price. It seems we can irritate and annoy someone without being aware, and then a decision is made without any rebuttal as you realize, when the Board or employer simply show you the exit door.
At each ‘transition’ point of being catapulted out, despite how painful, shocking and disappointing at the time, you look around only to learn it is was the best thing for me and for my family. It’s not nice to feel you’re being discarded without any rhyme, reason or logic, but within a few weeks a ‘better’ door opens and you walk into the situation where you really are appreciated.
No one must suffer at work, home or in associations that uncomfortable feeling be being ‘tolerated’ and not celebrated.
Our responsibility is to respond professionally and with respect when mistreated or misjudged; to keep our integrity in tact and despite the rumours, the innuendos and gossip, to still soar like an eagle because the turkeys make too much noise and weigh you down.
My life lesson is to allow the unjust dismissals and disposals to take their course because there really is something so much better, even custom designed, waiting for you to enter. We must always seek the place where we are celebrated. It will be the place where you are accepted, belong and have value.
