How many times has there been something you just had to do, but you didn’t want to do it? You thought of ways to get out of it, yet you knew you just had to do it.
There is a power when we change our language because it changes our mind – a mind shift when we say the words “I want to”.
I’d like to encourage us all to change our “have to” statements to “want to” statements.
“I want to be fit and move today,” not “I have to exercise.”
“I want to be free of this emotional situation,” not “I have to deal with this emotional situation.”
“I want to be kind to people I meet,” not “I have to be kind today.”
“I want to be compassionate and understanding towards this person,” not “I have to be compassionate and understanding today.”
We have the choice to make the best of each situation we are in and look at everything through a positive lens. Every situation we face is a chance for us to increase our trust to change!
