We are all going through something; an event, a season, a challenge, fear, ageing or simply life which for many just happens to us. What is our response to the tests of life? Things we never planned or expected would happen to us?
My blueprint for overcoming anything is called ‘Going Through’. It’s a MAPP which helps us navigate whatever is before us. Those things we confront the most are Fear, Loss and Ageing and we need to find a way for ‘Going Through’. Here’s the MAPP.
Maintaining those things which brought us enjoyment and fun is essential. They provide bearings and a sense of stability.
Acceptance is the key to moving forward. We cannot go forward without it. We achieve nothing by looking back.
Prioritising what is really important to us in life. The three ‘F’s’ are Faith, Family and Friends. Once we know our priorities we can focus and invest in them for life.
Planning for a new future helps us to move forward. We can’t move forward without planning. Keeping our eyes looking in front and not back steers us away from having a self pity party and keeps us expectant for a brighter tomorrow.
This is a blueprint MAPP for life. It gives us hooks and signposts to stay the course of going through whatever we are confronted with. Going Through is not scary. In fact, it can be an exciting adventure especially when we kick fear in the face, put our ‘courage suit’ on and keep moving forward.
Bravery is the ability to look fear and hurt in the face and say move aside, you are in the way. – Melissa Tumino
