I hate being interrupted. How about you? If you want to irritate me, interrupt me.
Some of the most memorable times I have of my life have been when I was interrupted.
Many times I wasn’t planning for anything out of the ordinary. I certainly wasn’t ready for anything, especially an interruption. Sometimes in life we just need to simply be – available.
So, in those times when our schedules get thrown off, when we encounter people who seemingly divert us from our original goal, let’s not react in frustration but choose to be open to the possibility of doing something amazing and surprising. Even to being open to receiving something amazing and surprising.
After all, those interruptions might just be opportunities for something better. Something unusual. Something in the moment and something which you could not have even imagine. We just need to be willing, flexible and available!
Are we willing to be interrupted, to be surprised? Are we believing for a miracle? If so, no matter how good our plans are, no matter how focussed and controlled our plans can develop, there needs to be a little space, a little opening for a slither of light, for us to be amazed and surprised for a miracle.
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand (Proverbs 19:21, ESV).
