Helen is not just a survivor of her personal tragedy but an amazing overcomer and passionate about inspiring others to successfully navigate their way through whatever crisis life hurls at them.
As a registered nurse, she has worked in two Accident and Emergency departments in NSW plus several years of Industrial nursing.
On arrival in South Australia, she successfully reinvented herself into the public relations world of corporate communications through local government arena the Defence Department for a decade.
She has 45 years’ experience navigating the complex criminal justice systems of both New South Wales and South Australia. (If you can navigate them, you can navigate anything).
She speaks about Navigating Tragic Events – a blueprint for going through and overcoming tragic events. Tragic events strike randomly. They happen to anyone, anywhere. Helen lived an idyllic lifestyle in the majestic Adelaide Hills for three decades, when she was blindsided by a tragic event. More and more people experience tragedy across Australia in fire zones and flood proned areas. Helen’s message exudes hope for real and practical overcoming for a future beyond disaster.
In March 2022 Helen’s husband and co-founder of Second Chances SA passed away on their houseboat called Eternity into Eternity and she continues to champion several causes. Helen has spoken countless times sharing life’s lessons on resilience and overcoming life’s complex challenges. Helen Glanville is founder and CEO of a South Australian charity, Second Chances SA, for the past seven years, and has overcome enormous personal setbacks while successfully leading her team through a two year pandemic.

She expects her first book and personal journey on ‘Second Chances’ to be launched in 2023. She is also focused to achieve impact and reform in the criminal justice system to see communities restored through giving people a ‘second chance’ on their release and the children of prisoners turned away from crime one person (and family) at a time. She has a passion for the children of prisoners who fall through the cracks in society. Not their crime. Not their fault..
